Lesson Four.

When do we meditate?

We find it best to meditate before we start our day.

Graham likes to shower and shave first. That makes him feel awake and ready to start. Whereas Julie, on the other hand, is happy to get up and go for it and shower after.

Whatever you prefer, it's up to you.

When you start you may find that you fall asleep or at least nod. Don’t worry it is normal. You have relaxed your body and now it does what it is used to, it goes to sleep.

Just stay with it you will soon come out the other side.

Some find that once they sit down the train takes over. The train of thoughts. All of those lists of what you ought to do, should do, must do today or what you did or didn’t do yesterday. Or how you treated or mistreated someone or how you were mistreated yourself.

These thoughts are perfectly normal. BUT, instead of going with the thoughts. Instead of following where the thoughts want to take you just focus yourself by saying:

I am a Soul. I must remember the supreme soul.

Just refocus. Don’t be hard on yourself. Meditation is to enable you to identify with the real peaceful happy you. So telling yourself I must be… I ought to be…..just wont work.

If you focus on what you can’t do. Or if you focus on what you are not good at. The result is and can only be a reduced Self Esteem.

Just RELAX being tense just doesn’t work.

It’s easy to say but just let your thoughts go.

Focus on: I am a Soul.
Then focus on the connection.

Remember you are a battery being recharged by the light. Stay connected to the light as long as you can. As long as you like.

You may only hold the connection for a few seconds but like a car battery those few seconds are enough to start the car. Once the car has started it can recharge itself as it goes along. Once you have made the connection the feeling stays with you and keeps you happy and focussed throughout the day.

It takes time but the result is well worth it. As they say… Rome wasn’t built in a day…. Anything that is worth doing takes time… You may have been given a God given talent but without practice it’s nothing…. The secret is the practice… the ability to have a go day in and day out…. Then one day, all of a sudden, less or no effort is needed ….you can do it…. It’s all the result of practice….

Anyone who is successful. Anyone who is deemed to have made it… has one key ingredient that is missing in the also rans…the ingredient is the willingness to practice and keep practising ….knowing that one can only get better if you practice…

Well done. You can now meditate.

You have the basic tool to bring peace and happiness and energy into your life.
